The main character in the story I'm working on has a workshop on his property with a machine inside. More on the machine later, but I realized that I not only have to figure out what the machine looks like, I also have to figure out what the building that houses the machine will look like. I've always thought that this would be a barn. Maybe that's because I see so many of them on my drive through the country to work. Anyway, I've been looking at barns and pictures of barns to figure out just what features it should have. I never realized just how many different kinds of barns there are. This is a page from my sketch journal that depicts one of the barns I'm considering.
